Highlight: Draft Accra Agenda for Action

The Working Party on Aid Effectiveness has disseminated the first draft of the Accra Agenda for Action (AAA). After a consultation process, the final text of the Agenda will be endorsed by the donor and aid recipient countries during the Third High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness (September 2008). Gender equity is listed in this first version of the AAA among the achievements that need to be accelerated and a commitment to invest in sex-disaggregated data has been included.

Ukraine reports the results of its National Consultations on Gender and Aid Effectiveness

The Ukraine EC/UN Partnership Country Team disseminated the reports of the First National Consultation "Gender mainstreaming in the process of national development and aid effectiveness - on the way to Ghana 2008" and the High-Level Consultation "National development process and aid effectiveness - ways to strengthen commitments on gender equality. Ghana-2008". The Consultations took place in Kyiv in February 2008.

The Workshop on Strengthening the Development Results and Impacts of the Paris Declaration on aid effectiveness through Work on Gender Equality, Social Exclusion and Human Rights took place in London, from 12 to 13 March 2008, one year after the Workshop on Development Effectiveness in Practice - Applying the Paris Declaration to Advancing Gender Equality, Environmental Sustainability and Human Rights (Dublin, 2007).
